On Wednesday 21st April, as part of Cardiff’s Fix the Food Chain Month, Cardiff East Transition group are screening the fantastic new film Food Inc, which shows how the food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of farmers, the safety of workers and our own environment.
The screening will take place at the Hungry Planet wholefood shop and cafe on Clifton Street in Splott at 6.30pm. And what’s even better is Hungry Planet will supply a delicious (and sustainably sourced) buffet to eat while the film’s showing!
There’s a £5 charge to cover the cost of the buffet. See you there!
We can now happily confirm that on Sunday 25th April, at 7.30 in the Canteen on Clifton Street, there will be a meal to celebrate the end of the Fix the Food Chain month in Cardiff!
The Canteen staff usually use seasonal ingredients (and local if possible), but they’re going to do one starter, main course, and dessert that is explicitly welsh, just for us.
The Canteen staff are busy preparing a full menu, but the price will be two courses for £11.50 or three courses for £13.50. It should be a great opportunity to sample some local food, and to talk about the Food Fight that will have taken place on the previous day!
If you, and your friends or partners would like to come then email Alison at
